Este ano, o maior encontro de especialistas acerca da aprendizagem, ensino e utilização da escrita vai acontecer em Antuérpia. Com vários subtemas associados (como a escrita académica, género de texto, processos cognitivos, escrita criativa, ensino da escrita em contextos diversos, escrita terapêutica, etc.), estarão reunidos especialistas oriundos do mundo inteiro, nomeadamente Prof. dr. Ronald T. Kellogg, eminente especialista na área.

SIG Writing 10^th International Conference

“EARLI SIG Writing is a special interest group of the European Association for Research on Learning and Instruction. Its members come from a variety of disciplinary backgrounds, including education, psychology, linguistics, computer science, rhetoric and literary studies.

The aim of the conference is to promote interaction among researchers who are interested in understanding the cognitive, social and developmental processes involved in writing, who are concerned with designing writing instruction in various educational settings, or with exploring the functions of writing in different social and institutional contexts. The scope of the conferences has typically been very broad, and we hope to draw together once again a wide range of researchers and professionals in the area of writing. We would therefore welcome submissions investigating the basic cognitive and social processes involved in writing, as well as research on the forms that writing instruction takes in specific contexts, and on the variety of purposes which writing can serve. We anticipate a dynamic and diverse meeting, and look forward to meeting old friends and to welcoming new ones.

Publications
Publications on many topics related to the scientific study of writing are among the most important activities of SIG Writing. These include the recently released prepublication and archive site, the book series "Studies in Writing", and a new on-line journal coming in 2006.

prepublication and archive

The SIG Writing publication server offers researchers the possibility to publish papers, chapters and other research material on-line, freely accessible for other writing researchers. The editors wish to foster a sense of community and collegial sharing of ideas by providing an online space where relevant work can be published in an initial stage. This will have to guarantee a continuous availability for the latest work in the field. Submitted publications will be checked for relevance and completeness by the archive's editors. Members of SIG Writing form the editorial board for the book series "Studies in Writing" under the general editorship of Gert Rijlaarsdam. Books in this series include edited volumes and research monographs. As of Volume 16, coming out in 2005, the book series moved from Kluwer Academic Publishers to Elsevier

A new high-quality peer-reviewed on-line journal on writing research, freely accessible for all, is planned to be launched in 2006.”
